A Superior Secondary Containment Solution

Posted on July 05, 2018 by ROMOLD
Spill Trays are a secondary containment solution that can be used across a multitude of applications. With a wide range of sizes, they are ideal for catching minor leaks and spills in the workplace and storing smaller drums and containers.

Compact and lightweight, they can fit into small areas and are robust and easy to clean. Use them to:

  • Store motor oil, paint, used print cartridges or a range of compatible fluids

Romold have a variety of spill trays ideal for housing a comprehensive range of storage options and capable of holding 8ltr to 145ltr of liquid. Several of our trays also include grids to ensure containers are devoid from touching spilt liquid.

  • Catch drips or spills from machinery

Our low profile trays are ideal for limited height applications. It is imperative that the floor of your workplace is not contaminated so trays are a great way to catch drips from machinery or messy jobs. They can safely house any spilt liquid until there is a chance for clean-up. Should the tray be full and difficult to empty, remember to use a suitable absorbent to soak up the liquid.

  • Transport stored liquids from one area to another

Our ST66WH multi-use mobile spill tray comes with a stainless steel handle, removable grid and four 50mm swivel castors making the transportation of liquids safe and easy. Additionally, the ST70 ridged spill tray has integral legs, enabling a pallet truck to fit underneath allowing for the safe movement of the tray.

Our rotationally-moulded polthylene spill tray range has wide broadband chemical compatibility, making them an ideal solution for the safe storage of a range of liquids. Additionally, the trays are fully recyclable.

4 Key Benefits of Using Bunded Flooring

Posted on June 19, 2018 by ROMOLD

Bunded flooring is a flexible solution that keeps workplaces dealing with any form of liquid (chemical or otherwise) protected. With broadband compatibility and easy to remove grid mesh decks, the flooring securely catches and stores any liquid that may have leaked from resting drums or IBCs, helping to keep employees and their surroundings safe from harm.

Our recently launched Sump Floor Kits - the BF4KIT1 and BF4KIT2 - are

  • Backed by a three year guarantee
  • Allow you to quickly and easily set up cost-effective work space solutions
  • Come complete with floor grids, connectors and joining strips
  • Can be assembled in a line or rectangular shape dependent on your requirement
  • Come with joining strips to ensure a superior finish and provide an additional security measure

Further to being an effective secondary containment solution, there are four key general benefits of using bunded flooring.

1. Highly Durable

Each section of bunded flooring holds up to 300ltr of fluid with a uniform distributed load (UDL) of up to 2000kg. When individual sections are connected together, it allows spilt liquid to flow freely between the sections, drastically increasing capacity. This proves ideal for holding a large spill from a drum or IBC should the need arise.

2. Safer Clean Up

Bunded flooring makes it far easier and safer to clean up any leaks, spills or overflow. Any spilt liquid will remain safely housed until it can be extracted, which is an easy task thanks to the removable grid mesh decks. We also offer optional ramps for loading and unloading, allowing for smooth access to and from the flooring sections and reducing the risk of spills during transportation.

3. Broadband Compatibility

Manufactured from polyethylene, the bunded flooring kits are suitable for a wide range of chemicals, including those that may be corrosive. Should these types of chemicals leak, they can cause untold damage to staff, flooring, metal products and more. By using a polyethylene product as a secondary chemical solution, you are safeguarding your property and staff from potential harm.

4. Prevents Contamination

By securing any spill you are ensuring liquid does not enter drains or waterways putting you at risk of jail time or a hefty fine from the Environmental Agency. Additionally, you will avoid the liquid in question mixing with any others in your work space that may result in an adverse reaction.

PRODUCT OF THE MONTH: Reduce Your Impact With Our Recycled Spill Pallets

Posted on May 31, 2018 by ROMOLD

At Romold, we are committed to sustainability and reducing our impact on the environment. Over the past year, we have made substantial investment in state of the art recycling equipment, allowing us to reuse what previously would have been waste material.

As a result of this investment, we are now able to offer a range of recycled products.

Our 2 and 4 205ltr drum pallets are rotationally moulded using recycled polyethylene, both with a removable plastic grid. The use of polyethylene ensures they are compatible with most liquids, however please check our handy guide to be sure. The products come with fork pockets for easy movement although pallets should be emptied when moved for safety.

In addition to the clear environmental benefits, these products offer a reduced cost for equal quality compared to our standard BP2 and BP4L products. They are fully compliant, holding 110% of the single largest item or 25% of the combined total - whichever is greater, and remain your first line of defence to stop leaking drums causing ground or water pollution.
